Our celebrated series of Artists Palettes continues with its second release in collaboration with Wendy Asumadu, aka Wendy’s World. An established London based creative who specialises in makeup artistry, content creation and consultancy, Wendy is known for pushing the boundaries with her bold, colourful work and abstract approaches to makeup. She uses her platform to talk about the importance of true inclusivity and diversity within the beauty industry and is the founder of EditorialBLK; a platform to create visibility and opportunity for Black artists.

She has worked with the likes of Converse, Meta, MAC, Gucci and even went to Cannes Lion Festival last year as a guest of Pinterest and now she’s doing a collab with us! We caught up with Wendy and Glisten CEO, Natalie to find out more about this epic release.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer some questions with us…

What do you want the world to know about Wendy’s World?

W: Wendy's World is about having fun with creativity. There's no limits, no rules. Wendy's World isn't just about makeup, it's about expressing yourself in any way whether that's through art, makeup, ranting. It's about community.

What inspired the colour story for this Artist’s Palette?

N: It was important for Wendy to have colours that worked well on her skin tone. The shades chosen are some of Wendy’s most reached for colours and PERFECT for darker skin tones. This palette is full of energy and vibrance just like Wendy!

Can you tell our customers a bit more about the limited edition brushes that come with your palette?

N: Wendy often uses fan brushes in her editorial looks for creating movement easily, so we created a brand new fan brush for this release. Then we have a long thin brush for those controlled lines and then finally a good all round brush! These are Wendy’s most reached for brushes- W2 is definitely a brush you’re going to need in your collection!!

Is there an OG Glisten product that you can’t live without?

W: I've been using Wet Liners since I pretty much started this thing. I take them everywhere with me and use them in the majority of my looks.

And finally, what’s your go to pizza topping?

W: Pepperoni probably.

Wendy was our Influencer of the Month in October and you can catch her full interview here.  You can buy the limited edition palette on its own or as a bundle with Wendy’s fave brushes here at www.glistencosmetics.com.
