India Rose x IOTM

We kick off the year with a refreshing deep dive with humble, shining star India Rose. A Digital Content Creator based out of London, India has made quite the impact in her short 2.5 years in the industry, taking social media by storm and creating waves with her stunning, imaginative and precise looks. We get some of her best makeup tips and find out how this amazing talent fell in love with makeup in the first place.

Erin: What do you want the world to know about India?

India: That I am actually really friendly! I am so terrible at doing stories and showing my day to day because I always feel so busy but I am always open to DMs! I love a chit chat.

… and your star sign?

Gemini!

You have an impressive following on social media, is there a moment when it all changed for you?

Up until quite recently I still thought of it all as a bit of a hobby and not something that anyone would take seriously. But working with some of my favourite brands and having them come back for multiple campaigns is really exciting for me! (Also, when Doja Cat followed me - that was huge!)

Your content is breath-taking, what made you want to become a Digital Content Creator?

Ah, thank you! I did Art as one of my A Levels and loved it, but am now doing a Computer Science at University. And whilst I love that too, I was really missing a creative outlet. Makeup became that very quickly to me and I am so glad it did!

Your aesthetic and colour choices are so bold and fun, what inspires your style?

I find it really helps to sketch out what I want to do before I do it. It gives a lot more room for making mistakes and trying new things without the time commitment - sometimes a bit of scribbling can lead to something really unique.

Where does your love of makeup come from?

I can't remember being massively into makeup until I went to University. Not having the time to do full blown pieces of art meant that makeup turned into the art I wanted to do. And once I started, I very quickly found that I loved it.

Your Wet Liner application is beyond flawless, can you give our readers any tips?

I think the darker shades of the Wet Liners are much easier to work with so I would definitely start with them! Brand new Wet Liners need a bit more time to activate so that's always good to keep in mind. For lighter pastel shades - the key is to not load too much on the brush and not let it get too thick -it's a lot easier to put on another layer than it is to try to take any off so start slow!

Do you have a Glisten Cosmetics product that you just can't live without?

No surprises here but it's the Wet Liners! Shades Lobster and Montserrat are my two holy grails.

How about a non-Glisten product?

I love the About Face Matte Fluid Eye Paints - they have completely changed my makeup game and I think I have nearly every colour by now. They're so versatile and pigmented and such a good alternative to eyeshadow.

Finally, what is your go-to pizza topping?

I'm a bit embarrassed by this, but if given the choice - it's always going to be anchovies.
