Black History Month is a time to celebrate, reflect, and recognise the creativity, influence, and resilience of Black communities across the world. It’s about honouring those who’ve paved the way, amplifying voices shaping the present, and inspiring the next generation to dream boldly.
At Glisten, creativity and self-expression are at the heart of everything we do - and this month is about spotlighting the Black artists and creators who continue to push boundaries, redefine beauty, and bring vibrant artistry to life through colour.
We’re celebrating with a lineup of stunning looks created by talented artists in our community, each inspired by an iconic Black figure or creative who has made an impact.
@keikeimua
Keisha’s look pays tribute to Fisayo Longe, founder of Kai Collective, and her powerful message of self-belief and individuality. Inspired by the Nao design from her brand, Keisha captured the same fearless use of colour and fluid form that defines Fisayo’s work.
Fisayo’s ethos - “I want women to never accept limitations or stereotypes from anybody, to realise how powerful they are” - radiates through this bold, sculptural eye look. The fiery red liner swirls meet pops of yellow and pink, celebrating confidence and the beauty of standing out.

@violet.te_frs
Violette’s look is a stunning, joy-filled tribute to Reginald Laurent, a contemporary abstract artist known for his vibrant use of colour and the way his work creates harmony through diversity. Laurent’s philosophy - that many colours can come together to form balance and beauty - deeply resonated with Violette, who brings that same spirit to their artistry.
In their voiceover, they share that they even had the chance to speak with Laurent himself, describing him as “so kind and encouraging” when they asked to use him as inspiration. The result is a look that bursts with energy, alive with swirling shapes, joyful hues, and a sense of unity through creativity. It’s a wearable reflection of his message: that colour, in all its forms, belongs together.

@noelleplay
Noelle’s look honours the legendary Pat McGrath, whose visionary artistry has shaped modern makeup itself. Known as “Mother” in the beauty world, Pat’s influence reaches every corner of the industry, from couture runways to the creativity we see online today.
Noelle channels that fearless innovation through intense, contrasting tones and exaggerated shape, a celebration of thinking beyond trends and “colouring outside the lines,” just as Pat McGrath encourages every artist to do.

@codenamekass
Kass took inspiration from the bold, genre-bending artist Doechii and her album 'Alligator bites never heal'. Known for pushing boundaries in both her music and visuals, Doechii represents confidence, creativity, and self-ownership, a perfect muse for this electric, textural look.
The luminous green web detailing, purple liner, and reflective gloss echo Doechii’s fearless, futuristic aesthetic. This look is fierce, feminine, and full of power.
