Disability Pride is about visibility, identity and the right to be seen without apology. It is about recognising disabled people as full, complex individuals who deserve to exist in every space, including beauty, fashion and creative culture.

At Glisten Cosmetics, that matters to us because beauty has never belonged to one kind of body. Makeup is about expression, play and the freedom to present yourself however you choose. Disabled people deserve to be included in that conversation naturally, not treated as an afterthought or represented only when a campaign is specifically about overcoming something.

For too long, the beauty industry has promoted a narrow idea of who gets to be visible. Disability is still often missing from campaigns, product imagery and wider conversations around self-expression. When disabled people are included, the focus can too easily shift towards their disability rather than their style, creativity or individuality.

Our Disability Pride shoot was created with that in mind. Each model brings a completely different energy to the images, from sharp and alternative to soft, colourful and glamorous. Their disabilities are visible, but they are not the only story being told. The makeup, styling and personalities are allowed to take up just as much space.

That is what meaningful representation should look like: not exceptionalising disabled people, but including them fully. It should show disabled beauty as stylish, joyful, bold, ordinary and entirely its own.

From all of us at Glisten, Disability Pride means celebrating every body, every way of moving through the world and every form of self-expression. Beauty should never ask anyone to make themselves smaller before they are allowed to belong.
