Halloween makeup is at its best when we start having fun with transformation. A face can become something haunted, celestial, theatrical, graphic, and even a little grotesque. Freedom like that is exactly why Halloween remains one of the most exciting moments in the beauty calendar.

This year, some of our favourite creators have taken Glisten Cosmetics Halloween makeup in completely different directions, from glowing UV skeletons to painted fantasy faces and tiny graphic details that probe a full costume is not always necessary.

@visiblejune

June’s first look is just beautifully unsettling.

Under UV light, the face becomes almost spectral, with bright blue handprints and dragged pigment appearing across the skin like something has reached through the dark and left its mark behind. The effect feels ghostly without relying on the usual halloween cliches.

🛍️  UV IT!

The second look takes UV makeup somewhere PLAYFUL.

Tiny fluorescent skeletons dance across the cheeks in Traffic Cone, while blue details and scattered scars glow against the skin.

It is like a story-book with the skeletons. It is spooky, but also strangely charming.

Laura-Jane turns the entire face into a canvas.

Blue, green, yellow and violet move across the skin like a painted landscape, interrupted by intricate red and orange details that feel a mix of botanical and celestial.

Using spectra base across the face gives the artwork its saturated foundation, while Bliss and Bliss 2.0, Chroma flakes, and wet liners bring texture, sparkle and smaller details into the composition.

This is the beauty of products like spectra base during halloween. Once the entire face becomes available as a canvas, the possibilities get much bigger.

@bo.quinn

Bo’s look strips halloween makeup back to three essential colours: black, white and one hit of red.

The face is completely transformed with white spectra base, creating a stark blank canvas for the oversized black circles, heavily defined eyes and glossy red mouth. Against that near-monochrome base, every feature becomes exaggerated, especially when paired with the sculptural spiked hair and heavy metal styling.

@indiarose_makeup

India proves that Halloween makeup does not need to cover the entire face.

In the first look, a thin red liner runs around the eye before being crossed with tiny black stitches. The placement is clever because it follows the shape of a traditional eyeliner look, but completely changes the meaning of it.

The second takes a classic black wing and lets it unravel into a spiderweb beneath the outer corner. The web becomes part of the liner rather than an additional decoration, making the whole design feel considered.

And finally, one of the simplest ideas might also be one of the strongest.

India pairs a sharp black wing with red along the lower lash line, allowing one glossy-looking drop to fall from the inner corner.

There is no single way Halloween makeup has to look.

It can take hours or just five minutes. It can cover every inch of your face or exist i none tiny line beneath the eye.
