‘Tis the season of faux freckles.
The leaves are turning, the knitwear has returned, coffee is alive again, and we’re all collectively pretending we wouldn't abandon our responsibilities immediately if someone invited us to spend October in a tiny New England town.
Our makeup MUST follow suit.
Autumn beauty doesn't always need to mean smoky eyes and berry lips. Sometimes, it’s flushed cheeks, brushed-up brows and a scattering of barely-there (or very-there) freckles across your nose that make it look as though you’ve spent the afternoon drinking coffee, reading somewhere picturesque and perhaps falling inexplicably in love with a cowboy.
Is that too specific? Maybe.
But thankfully, we’ve made the freckles easy.
Our Glisten Cosmetics Speckled Pen collection is growing, with four beautiful new shades joining the family: Coffee, Truffle, Biscuit and Greige. And because finding your perfect faux freckle shade shouldn’t require the investigative abilities of Rory Gilmore during finals week, we’ve also introduced new Speckled Pen bundles curated across different skin tones!
Coffee

If there were a shade destined for autumn, it would be called Coffee.
Deep, rich and deliciously dark, Coffee Speckled Pen creates beautifully defined faux freckles with a natural brown depth. Think the first mug of coffee on a cold October morning, dark chocolate, worn leather boots and the kind of brown suede jacket that inexplicably makes an entire outfit look intentional.
It’s particularly beautiful when you want your freckles to have a little more contrast rather than disappearing into the skin.
Truffle

Truffle lives somewhere in that gorgeous warm-brown territory where autumn makeup thrives.
A softer, warmer brown than Coffee, Truffle Speckled Pen gives your freckles that sun-kissed, naturally scattered finish – as though they’ve simply appeared after years of mysteriously spending your summers horseback riding somewhere very expensive.
With a warm, earthy richness that feels perfectly at home beside bronzed skin, cinnamon blush and those slightly messy makeup looms that somehow get better the less perfect they are.
Cowboy freckles, made romantic.
Biscuit

Delectably golden, Biscuit Speckled Pen is out lighter new addition to the collection.
The shade has that subtle beige warmth that creates wonderfully understated freckles, particularly when you want the finished effect to whisper rather than shout. They’re there, scattered over the nose and cheeks like tiny flecks of late-summer sun, but they melt beautifully into the rest of your makeup.
The beauty equivalent of an oversized cream jumper, a bakery window on a cold morning and something cinnamon-flavoured you absolutely did not need but bought anyway.
Greige

Somewhere between beige, taupe, and grey sits Greige – the wonderfully muted neutral we didn’t realise out makeup bags were missing.
Cooler and slightly more subdued, Greige Speckled Pen offers a soft alternative to traditionally warm faux freckle shades. The result is natural, subtle and beautifully understated, especially for complexions where richer orange-toned browns can sometimes feel a little too warm.
Greige is quiet luxury for your freckles.
Choosing one shade can be difficult, so we decided you shouldn’t have to.
Fair/Light

Soft and delicate. The Fair/Light Speckled Pen Bundle brings together Biscuit, Greige and Taupe for a trio of lighter faux freckle shades that can be worn individually or layered for extra dimension.
Medium/Tan

The warm caramel-toned shades made for golden complexions.
Together, Toffee, Russett & Truffle create a gorgeous spectrum of warm browns, allowing your to build freckles that look naturally varied rather than perfectly placed.
Dark/Deep

For richer depth, the Dark/Deep Speckled Pen Bundle brings together Cacao, Coffee & Squirrel. These deeper brown shades can be dotted individually across the skin or altered together to mimic the beautiful variation found in natural freckles.
